I have to agree with this. I have a friend who has a munchkin and he can get all over the place and doesn't have any issues at all. The bambino isn't a cat I would personally go for (I'm all about the plush coats) but each to their own.

Re: Is this your sort of cat

Japanese Bobtails do not have polydactyl feet. That's just one of the errors in that document.

Re: Is this your sort of cat

It's Pixiebobs that can be polydactyl, the GCCF must have got mixed up.

Cute!! in a frankenstein's monster kind of way!! Not sure I like my cats that messed about with tho.
Hey, what about adding a persian into the mix too? A bald, stumpy legged, smooshed face cat would be a sight to behold!!LOL

Re: Is this your sort of cat

The worry I have with Munchkins is that the Dachshund who has actually the same genetic defect causing the shortened limbs can suffer from back/spinal problems. It is advised not to let your Dachshund climb up and down stairs or jump off high objects as it can injure their spine leading to severe pain or paralysis.

You cannot control a cats activities as you can a dog, so I am worried for them, as cats tend to hide pain and so many of them could be suffering in silence.

Re: Is this your sort of cat

I don't like any breeding of harmful mutations. Sphynxes and persians (and lots of Siamese too) are only OK because they invariably live with people, they would never survive in the wild.

Re: Is this your sort of cat

No, it does look like a sausage dog from a quick glance though.
