Litter training kittens

My cat has recently had a litter of 4 kittens, who are now nearly 5 weeks old. How do we go about litter training them prior to sending them off to new homes?
Thanks x

Re: Litter training kittens

Hi, the mother cat should show them the idea but you can put them in the litter tray after they eat etc to show them what to do...cats are very clean animals and shouldnt be too hard to train them! Good Luck!

Do you have any pics of the kittens?

I've always found the easiest way to litter train is as Poppy says, let mother do it but also a more confined area helps as like children potty training, if they can't see the target any place will do

Re: Litter training kittens

Just pop the kittens into the litter tray after every meal and they will start to use it instinctively. Be careful which litter you use as some kittens do try and eat it so it would be best to avoid any litter that clumps. I use the wood pellets which break down into sawdust when used and is softer for tiny paws than gravel.
