1st trip to vets...

For anyone who read my other post, i took Tilly to the vets this evening and he confimed that she does have ear mites. He's given us some drops to treat her with and we've come home and sprayed and washed all of her bedding and sofa throws so hopefully they should clear up soon.

This was her 1st time at the vets and she was so so good, didn't try to struggle or escape or make any noise at all; just got on with it and fell to sleep in the carrier on the way home! Perfect! We bought her a new faux sheepshin pet blanklet as a treat and she is currently curled up on it right now, still scratching a bit but the vet said the drops would annoy her for the first few days as they would cause the mites to move around more but just glad it's sorted and she's back to her normal self again

Ahh bless her! Glad you were able to get an official diagnosis. Now she can start getting herself on the mend. Bet she's going to get pampered for a few days? xx

Glad she's ok, takes a few days for the drops to kick in though. Sounds like she is enjoying her new blanket!

Waffles was an angel the first time I took her to the vets... however, she now knows what she is in for and she does NOT like it!

Re: 1st trip to vets...

We had to put her drops in her ears this morning and it was a nightmare! My OH held her but she kept managing to wriggle out and when we finally got her still she kept putting her ears back so that it was harder for me to fold them back to get to where I needed to be. Then, as soon as the liquid touched her ears she shook her head so violently the majority of it came out; when we eventually got it done she ran off and hid under the table and wouldn’t come out to say goodbye to me before i left for work, she looked so abused and I felt so guilty! We have to do it again tonight and for the next week so no doubt she will be in a permanent grump with us for that time, she really knows how to hold a grudge too!

Aaaww - little darling!! I know that look of 'you cat abuser' they can give sometimes and it always makes me feel soooo bad!

Glad she's on the mend though and wishing you luck with the remaining ear drop administrations
