Cat Ladders?!

Hi All,
This is very new to me, so im not sure im doing this correctly, and im sorry if I do something wrong!!

I live in a first floor flat, and we have got ourselves a kitten, I thought I would be happy with him staying indoors, but it turns out im really unhappy with the thought of him having to stay indoors.

We have a juilette balcony, which is about 10 foot from the floor. And I was wondering if anyone knew of a way that I could construct something for him to gain access to and from the flat? Any ideas would be great!!

Thanks
Steph

Re: Cat Ladders?!

I heard of someone who used to lower a basket up & down.

Short of that, I don't know. Any particular reason you can't keep him in?

Re: Cat Ladders?!

The amount of people who post here with missing cats, cats that have been attacked by people/animals,run over and stolen is enormous i have 10 indoor cats, all happy and healthy, and most importantly ALIVE!
There are plenty of ways to keep him amused, cat activity climbing centers, boxes etc

Re: Cat Ladders?!

We live in a first floor and im worried that someone will let him in the downstairs door and then hes stuck between the downstairs door and our front door without water, food etc.
I can keep him in, but i feel its cruel. I think maybe im a bit over emotional to be honest. Im constantly worrying that hes lonely and sad, even though he seems ok.

The funny thing is, when I really think of him going out, i worry more incase he gets run over, attacked etc.

Im finding it very ahrd to adjust with him here as i constantly worry!

Re: Cat Ladders?!

Hi,
my cat is going to be an indoors cat as I feel that in these times it is much safer to keep her that way I am currently building her a run in the garden, which I appreciate you may not be able to do but, when the weather is good I am starting to take her in the garden on a harness and lead for a walk-could you do that? That way you have a bit of both

Re: Cat Ladders?!

I cannot understand why some people see it as cruel to keep a cat inwhats kind about allowing him to be exposed to the dangers outside!! if your worried about him being lonely consider a friend for him maybe a playmate to snaggle with.

Re: Cat Ladders?!

I echo that if you have the means to get him a playmate I think he would be alot happier.

If you're really intent on letting him out maybe put a small bowl of water outside your front door?
