Poorly cats, sickness and diarrohea

Hello all. I have two bi-colour males, one of them started to be sick on monday - i thought i was just fur balls, so just let him carry on, he was still being sick tuesday so i cooked up some fish and rice and let both of them have some. Today he is still being sick, the rice and fish is in the garden (sicked up) he has diarrohea (he left that for me on the carpet) the other cat has been sick too. I have taken the younger one to the vet who said it could be they just both hair fur balls, or a tummy bug, so he had an injection tp stop him from being sick and has given me some paste to ease his diarrohea. When we got home he was sick again (he managed to sneak a few iams - which have now been put away). The vet said make sure they have plenty of water and plain food (chicken). My concern was how do i know is he has something stuck in his tummy area as he is a mouser, or what is they have both ate something they shouldnt? Has anyone had two cats being sick at the same time? And how long should it take to go away, and what should i look for if its a bone stuck?

Thankyou so much x
