Re: biting

My kitty bites me when she plays and I also stop the play and say 'no' and now she goes to bite me and stops with her mouth around my hand and then starts to lick

A weird one though... if I am bare legged... like when I first get up she follows me around licking and nibbling my legs odd!

Re: biting

My burmese cat Moomin bites me all the time. She gave me a fat lip on Friday!! I was giving her kisses and she launched herself at me and got my lip, drawing blood and making my lip swell!! She's been a biter ever since I got her. The first time she bit me and drew blood, she was 13 weeks old, I'd only had her 3 days when she bit my finger. I phoned the breeder who said "oh you've got a biter" like it was perfectly acceptable!! When she bites me, I tell her no, stop playing with her and ignore her for a while. But it hasn't stopped her. She is 5 years old now and I don't think she'll ever get out of the habit. She bites anyone!! Friends, family, my other cat!! Does that mean she loves me lol I'm making her sound awful, but shes not, she can be a very loving cat too and I love her very much...if she wasn't so damn beautiful, I don't think she'd get away with it!! xx

ohmygoodness... I would let that cat bite me! She is gorgeous
Perhaps you could try isolating her when she does this? If our kitty is particularly naughty we pick her up without talking and put her in a seperate room for a few minutes - a bit like putting a child on the naughty step. It has really worked for us. Perhaps you cuold try that?

Re: biting

Thank you...yes she is very beautiful...the apple of my eye!! And she knows it!! Maybe thats why she thinks she can get away with biting Mummy!! I will try that the next time she launches herself at me, which will probably be tonight!! I'll let you know how I get on Old habits die hard though and now she's 5, can she be changed?? x

jst to change the convo a little with the isolation. following another post which you said about this i thought wat a brill idea so friday night i had gettin in from work about 8:15 oh had been in since 6 and been playin and lovin Sheldon. i walked in the door and he was waitin for me which is lovely but a little later we settled down to watch tele and he started meowing at the door. so i picked him up but didnt cuddle him and put him in the passage for 5 mins then let him back in. i dont this about 5 times and every time he kept goin back to the door. i was like a yo yo up and down up and down. i dunno how you have the patience unless my cat is alot more stubborn. it makes me giggle now. you can all have a little giggle at the thought of me up and down over and over again lol

lol my cat might be stubborn but I am even MORE stubborn I won't let her beat me I do give her about three warnings before the isolation commences though.
