Re: how many cats...?

Our numbers fluctuate all the time. I assume you mean without kittens.. so we have 26 cats here with 10 in the USA.

Re: how many cats...?

We have 26 cats here with us - they're a mixture of breeds, but by far the most cats are Bengals.
The ten I was talking about were Savannahs - and they're being quarantined in the USA by our exporters. They'll be here in August.

It's actually 14 that we have reserved at the moment, not ten. Sorry.

Yeh, of course you would. Every cat is our baby (whether we've bred them or not) and despite most of them being the same breed they all have their own personalities which we know intimately - and they look different. Even ones that we think 'I don't know how I'm going to tell those two apart' look different after a month or so and you wonder how you could ever have thought they looked the same!

Do all they cats get on ok?
No they don't. We try to have as few cats segregated from the others as possible, which is one of the most compelling reasons to rehome a queen. We have Bianca that is getting on a bit (breeding wise) and also doesn't get on with other cats - we have Ripley who can be unpredictable with other cats, and we have Eloise who is terrified of Bengals. All of these will be rehomed because they cannot cope well.

But we currently have eleven girls in our conservatory and another six in what we call a 'Commune' (a converted garage). The others are either having babies, or are studs and have to be kept separate, because like the male of our species, they can be aggressive if there's women involved!

The Savannahs apparently get on even better with each other than Bengals do, so we'll have an even more harmonious household when they arrive.

It does mean we are constantly sweeping up tracked litter and changing trays (the cats can ignore their slightly smelly tray and not mind it outside, but inside - phew), but I really don't want all of my girls outside. If I find my girls have to go outside for social reasons then I try to find them another home - it's not fair on them.

Re: how many cats...?

Our 'pet' Flower is usually up with us in our bedroom, but she's just been spayed (hence is now a pet) and she's recovering. We have a queen with her kittens in our bedroom at the moment though - she would cream Flower if Flower was in the bedroom with her!

Re: how many cats...?

Yes we have, but we found that chick crumb is the same texture, and is much cheaper.

Re: how many cats...?

Not many participants in this thread, but still enough for two people to leave nasty comments on my rep. What is your problem? Why don't you express yourself publically rather than leaving bad comments on my rep? Cowards. mad:mad:mad:mad:
