Re: prefix ideas ??

whats the difference between tica and gccf ?? is it better to be with both ? or just one or the other ?
i really want to do my best by breeding bengals and i want to make sure everythin i am doing is correct
all my cats that i have now (2) are all vaccinated tested etc but i know when breeding pure breeds its completely different as they are smaller when they are born weaning etc ... so just making sure am doing everythin the way it should be done..
like gccf
joined the bengal cat club

i am workin alongside a established bengal breeder so i know she will guide me in the right direction but its always a good thing to be prepared etc .. lol

Look at them - they're fantastic!
I don't breed them yet - they're so new to the UK that I have to wait till August to get mine!

TICA stands for The International Cat Association and is based in the USA, but as the name suggests is a worldwide cat fancy and registry service.
GCCF is the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy and it's UK only.

It is always best to be dual registered if you are going to show your cats - and as a breeder that's the best way to get your name known.

However GCCF do not accept all Bengals as proper Bengals. It will be years and years (if ever) that they approve the blue Bengal. They are only just this year allowing snow spotted and brown marbled Bengals to have championship status. The snow marbled Bengal and silver Bengal will just have to wait.
They take a long time to approve prefixes - however they have the most shows. TICA shows are only just taking off over here so there are few of them about and you may have to travel a long way to attend.

thats the thing i REALLY want to show as much as i can :~) and am willing to travel if i have too (and if cat is happy to ) so maybe its best to set up a prefix with both tica and gccf then

Re: prefix ideas ??

We love marbles here. I've just got a blue eyed snow marbled Bengal called Dolly. She's only our second snow. I keep hoping our girls will produce a beautiful snow girl for me to keep back, but everytime suitable breeding quality kittens appear, they're boys and I'm under contract not to keep an active male from most of my girls.

Spottees
Dottyspots
Spottydots
Spotspot
Silken (I'm sure that has gone)
Lapbabies (This is a good thing to have in a prefix - a lot of people are under the mistaken impression that Bengals are not lapcats).

Ummm..
