Nervous about neutering

Hi everyone, not been on here for ages! Moved house and have no internet at the mo due to building work and not allowed to use it at work but needed to ask a quick question so hope my boss doesn't come in hehehe.

I know its really silly of me but I am getting really nervous about taking Bella and Misty in for their op on Friday, almost to the point where I can picture me crying when I have to hand them over (how silly am I) and get a lump in my throat and racing heart thinking about it. Anyone got any reasurance for me and any advice on the post op care for them both.

Thanks everyone. x

Re: Nervous about neutering

I handed mine over this morning. It's tough & it's even harder when they say they can't guarantee success but my vet reassured me & said he has never lost a patient in for a spay.

I'm sure they will be fine & I am waiting to hear mine is fine!

Hi,
I know how you're feeling now as I went through it last year. Don't worry everything will be fine Once you get them home just keep an extra special eye on them to make sure they leave their wounds alone. Try not to worry and don't forget to give them loads of hugs before and after the op

I just got the call. She's awake & had a pee, apparently. No doubt she will try to be naughty tonight regardless & I am picking her up in half an hour.

remember it is for the best - it is the best thing to ensure your cats happiness.

You are not silly at all it isn't nice giving your pets over to the vets even if it is routine

i did cry when i had to get Sheldon done. I was asking all sorts of questions which made the nurse feel inadaquit but she knew how i felt. when i got the fone call to say i needed to go over for him i was convinced somethin had happened to him coz of the tone of her voice but no he was fine i was jst bein a worrier.

its normal to be worried otherwise it'd show you didnt love them. but all vets and nurses no owners love their animals so if you cry dnt feel embarassed.
im sure everything will all be ok at worst youll be taking home a moody cat. i no its easier said than done but dnt worry they'll be fine.
good luck

Re: Nervous about neutering

Thanks everyone - the big day tomorrow! I am sure everything will be fine - just got to think of lots to keep me busy during the day to keep me occupied while I wait for the call. At least I have got lots of ceilings and walls to paint at home!

xx
