Chewing

at the minute Sheldon is 10 months old and over the last few weeks has started chewing things. In the past hes chewed string and elastic from his toys but now he's chewing anythin he can get his hands on from tapemeasures to ornaments to my shoes jst anythin. i've had a look at his teeth and there seems to be nothing wrong and hes still eating.
Does anyone have any ideas why this may be?

thanx in advance for replies

Re: Chewing

Have you looked in his mouth - maybe he's teething his big back teeth or has a tooth issue.

Re: Chewing

I don't know what to suggest because he is going for EVERYTHING by the sounds of it
Make sure that you do not leave him alone with trailing cables and wires.

Waffles likest o claw the mastick from our windows and eat that we have tried everything to get her off of it and it really annoys me she isn't too fond if lemon juice - you could try wiping that over some of the things??

aaaw that is great Sheldon must be very cute indeed then

maybe you need to discipline Sheldon a little more? Try a firm 'no' it takes a lot of effort but you will get there in the end.

I give Waffles three chances and then I isolate her for a little while. It works. I only have to say 'no' now and she stops.

this made no difference he was like "who do you think you are puttin me in there pah"

i think il have to get a water bottle altho i do feel quite mean. i am a soft touch and he nos it

Re: Chewing

consider though - what is crueler - letting him bite through an electric wire and frying painfully to death OR a small bit of dampness on the face?

Lightbulb Re: Chewing

Try and fill a tin can with coins and shake it when he shows bad behavior...then he will associate loud noise to his habit...and he may stop!! Just an idea!
