Charlie O'Marley is coming home!

Our new kitten Charlie O'Marley will be coming home on Thursday. I was intending to get him on the Saturday, but his 'owner' doesn't want all the kittens to disappear all on one day as she feels it would be unfair to the mother cat.

So we're getting him a little earlier then expected so tomorrow I shall be going to our local P@H for a good old kitten shopping fest.

Even though I have had kittens before I keep panicking about little things, you know the usual stuff. What if he doesn't settle in? How will the litter training go in a new home? What if he doesn't get on with Thomas O'Toole our resident cat? One of my main worries at the moment with the weather being nice is how to keep him inside when my children were born in a barn and have an inability to close doors after them.

So excited, but at the same time thinking OMG! Hopefully that's normal.

OMG is a very normal reaction Have fun shopping for him - saw a family coming out of our P@H with loads of stuff the other day
I'm sure he will settle in fine. I love the name
I have a husband who doesn't close doors but since Mai Tai has been out on her lead she doesn't make a dash for the door so much. Maybe put stickers on doors to remind them
We want to see lots of pictures too

Re: Charlie O'Marley is coming home!

Hi,

What a brill name lol! I am sure he will settle with you. As long as he knows where his tray is from the outset, limit him to one room while he is settling in. I am sure Thomas will be fine with him. Just take it at a nice leisurely pace thats all.

What food has he been on already? make sure you have that in and of course white fish and a bit of chicken should his tummy get upset from the changes of a new home. Toys I would stick to the basics and not overwhelm him with lots of different ones. I am sure it will go so well.

Best of luck to you.

Izzie

Re: Charlie O'Marley is coming home!

Thanks for that advice Izzie, I will do that

We won't go toy mad as the dog tends to nick them. We bought Thomas a fuzzy dice for Christmas one year. It can always be found hanging out of the dog's mouth.

I'm right with you on the excitement and worry at the same time! A kitten, how wonderful!! I know nothing constructive about Kittens I'm afraid, just wanted to say congratulations and I'm sure all will go well when you get him home!!
