What to do with loose Catnip?

Hi all,

Just a quick question pls. I bought some loose organic catnip in honour of Tigger's arrival tomorrow night and have absolutely no idea what to do with it now!

I was convinced I would be able to find a 'fill it yourself' type little soft toy but it seems they come either pre-filled or you've got to make your own.

It says to use an old sock on the back of the packet - surely he'd chew/claw through that in minutes though?

Any hints/suggestions gratefully received!

he he Get out the needle and thread! If you've got any old bits of sheet or pillow case cut one up and make a little bag to stuff with the cat nip. You can buy toys that you fill though I'm sure
Play Fill refillable catnip mouse faux fur mice cat kitten toys for fun activity
there you go there are loads of others on the web too

Uh-oh! I was afraid you'd see this query of mine and rightly conclude that I did buy too many things in Pets at Home despite your good advice and my protestation....ahem.....

Can't sew to save my life so thank you for that link - lifesaver!

**just clicked on that link - that's amazing. Perfect!! Will be ordering one of those immediately! Great price too!!
Thanks again!

What a fab link LymoreLynn!

I have thought about growing a small container of catnip or catmint in our garden for Thomas, but I'm not sure if that's a practicle idea. I have visions of all the neighbourhood cats stoned in my garden.

Thanks very much!! I am unbelievably nervous already - stomach is in a right state!!

Although, feel a little better now that I've told the OH about Tiggers spraying problem. I was a bit of a naughty girl and hadn't told him about that yet seeing as I'll be the one cleaning it up. He was fine though and just said that he must be doing it for a reason before adding, 'poor thing'. What a sweetheart!

Lol I'm having visions of stoned cats rolling all over your garden .
I have some growing in a small pot which Gizmo usually squashes rolling on it. We don't have any neighbouring cats -( not since the bully of a ginger tom (un-neutered) from a house up the lane died about a year ago.) so no 'drug parties' round here

Ha ha ha - what a turn of phrase! Wonderful! I presume you mean has he been neutered?(v. coarse me lol)

He has been 'done' as it were and the poor thing also went through an op 5-6weeks ago cos the vet thought he had kidney stones and that was causing the spraying. No sign of any stones was found though. Poor owners, they've obviously tried everything to get the spraying to stop and therefore keep him.
