It is like little bald spots

Hiya.

I do not know if this is normal for kittens or not, but Jinxy has it is like little bald patches by his face and ear.

Is that OK? i didn't know if it was cause he was a black (brown/white touches! lol) cat or not, that it might be more noticeable or something.

He is a happy enough cat and healthy to (in respects of going to the litter tray & eating and drinking).

Re: It is like little bald spots

I have noticed this with my cat too. Her hair seems to thin from the bottom of her ear to the top of her eye if that makes sense. I have noticed it on other cats too so I haven't been too worried. Very interested to see what it might be though. Receeding hairline ???

Re: It is like little bald spots

Hi, both my cats have this too. They are tabbies so it's not as noticable but you can see their skin through their fur in the same place.

Like the other reply, I wouldn't worry too much but interested to know if anyone else has noticed this.

Perfectly normal in short haired cats. What purpose it serves though I have no idea

I know, I know, I know

It is that when cats sleep it looks like they still have their eyes open to preditors etc.

Is that what my husbands receeding hairline is for also? To fool me into thinking he's awake when he's sleeping in front of the football?
