Re: raw chicken

It is possible but not very common. The bacteria in cats mouths is pretty hardcore and does it's best killing off bacteria in meats as they are carnivores by nature! Just be sure to use fresh meat that is kept correctly and don't leave it out for more than 8 hrs. Also be sure you don't warm it or half cook it. It's either raw or cooked, no in between.

Re: raw chicken

I feed it to dogs and have never even thought about that! don't imagine cats are any difference!
You do have to be careful when giving raw beef though! or should I say raw beef that has been frozen!

Re: raw chicken

There is a possibility, but it is very very unlikely that they would contract the disease. I would say though that cats and dogs have been known to shed the like bacteria in their faeces (poo), so good litter hygine is essential.

I feed all my cats raw, and the dog has raw chicken wings too. They love it. HTH xxx

They eat the bone, just never give your can a cooked bone. Mine have raw chicken too, they love it. I get fed up of all the scare mongering with regards to raw chicken etc... better than the sh*t in cat food anyways

It is a threat to an unhealthy cat but in healthy cats the bacterial will be either detsroyed in the gut or pass through into the litter tray.

Chicken breast, whilst ok as a treat, is not as beneficial as the odd chicken wing. The bones in the wing will help to keep their teeth clean and promote good muscles in the jaw. A cat should have no problems devouring a whole wing includeing bone. Just remember that cooked bones will splinter and cause internal problems, uncooked bones are ok.

PS always leave the skin on as it is a great source of energy for cats.
