He could have mange or simply be infested with fleas. I'd take him to the vet.... Is he itchy?

Take him to the vet definitely,it could be one of many things.

Unfortunately if you have a tom with the full set of tackle they will disappear and go into the most dubious places and any female they can get hold of.
If you want him to stay near home and out of trouble ask the vet to do a little "snip"

My lads are all done and the ones that are allowed never wander far.

Hopefully he'll be ok and nothing serious

Re: baldness on variouse places HELP!

My Thea licked herself bald in places. It was stress from living at my mums till she got neutered. This just sounds like he has been scrapping to me but he could have caught something nasty from another cat. With Thea I was told it would either be fleas or stress.

Re: baldness on variouse places HELP!

I agree with the above posts, a vets visit is in order!!! Fleas or stress licking most likely. Though ring worm is quite common in cats and causes bald patches, vet holds a Woods lamp next to bald skin and it glows if ring worm present. Also a hyperthyroidism also causes hair loss, which REALLY needs treated asap. It really is important people get their male cats 'snipped', SSPCA is over run with cats, so irresponsible!!!! Poor thing sounds like he won't get a vets visit, if you won't even cough up for him to be neutered. Just hope you get an answer on here lol. TAKE HIM TO VETS!!!! There are charities that can help you with costs!

Just thought could also be food allergy or poison... Lots of different (serious) things it could be, so a vet visit is deffo in order. There is The Blue Cross/ PDSA that helps owners who can't afford private vets fees... Give them a bell.

Re: baldness on variouse places HELP!

hi guys tok him to the vets today seems that its just a summer malting gone wrong poor boy is lossing too much fur they cant see any problems phyicly so no alarm......

no hes not itching and i have never found 1 flea on him..

they told me to keep him in to keep an eye on it... since the first post on here he seems to have a very thin short layer of fur regroth so hopefully there is nothing to be alarmed of...
he also gets the snip in week n a half (hes not gunna be happy with me lol)...
mainly doing this to fatten him up bit as i heard it makes them chubby cozmo has no weight to himm lol doc sas he just slightly under weight but he expected that as he is a working tom..... so in a week n bits time he will be a poorly lookin boy wen he comes round from his sleep lol and on the road to looking and feeling better....

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR ADVICE.........

A + TO YOU ALL..
