Question Going in the Litter Tray

I got my kitten yesterday, he is 8 weeks today. He seems to be peeing fine in the litter tray but I cant get him to poo in it. When he needs a poo he runs to get under the computer tray or the tv counter and he gets quite distressed. He has only pooed twice and my other half managed to pick him up and he pooed on him and the other time I caught him going under there and he pooed in my hand

I pick him up and put him in there but he doesnt seem to like it. I have one with litter crystals and I have just put another one down with wood litter to see if he will go in there.

Any tips or suggestions would be fab

Thanks
Vicky & Garfield

Re: Going in the Litter Tray

hmmm it is odd that he is not wanting to poop in his litter tray. He obviously knows where his litter tray is. I don't know really but you might want to buy a deoderising spray to get rid of his scent from the bit of carpet that he is pooping on. Might stop him going back to it.
That only other thing that I would be tempted todo would be to scoop his poop from the floor and place it in his litter tray. I would then get the kitty and cover the poop using the kittens front paws - do this gently. I would also leave the poop in there for some time in the hope that he will find the correct place to poop by using his nose.

Does that make sense? I'm not an expert on kitties and I am sure somebody else can give you some advice. This is just what I would try.

Re: Going in the Litter Tray

he may prefer a covered tray if he is trying to do in under things.
