Question Cant choose!

Hi, I am new to this forum and was wondering if there is anybody that could help me with the very difficult decision of choosing a kitten?
I have been offered a choice of 2 kittens, one a 10 week 3/4 oriental male and the other a 6 month siamese male....

Just a few thoughts that may help. Although pics would really help. Did you go looking for a kitten to be offered them? What did you have in mind when you went looking, Are they from different places. Have you read anything about either breed. Is there anything about one that attracts you more in anyway. Big decision, good luck.

Re: Cant choose!

Thanks for your help!
I cant put the pics up as I dont know how!!!! The oriental is a blue self and the siamese is lilac point. Yes, I was looking for a siamese or similar and as I have wanted my own for the last 8 yrs I have done heaps of reading and wanted to wait til I was in the right situation to live with one so it is a really tough, tough choice to make...
I only wish I could have both but him indoors wont let me they are from different places too.
Dont know if it makes much difference but the oriental is un-vaccinated or neutered but the siamese is both and the person with the oriental is asking for more money
(Excuse the waffling I'll only forget what Im saying if I dont get it down as quickly as I can!)

Re: Cant choose!

Hi, I assume the oriental is for sale as its a kitten ready for a new home. Why is someone getting rid of a pedigree siamese that has already been neutered etc? If its just a change of circumstances I would go for that one, at least it will be litter trained etc.

Re: Cant choose!

Is the Siamese pure bred? If so I'd go for him rather than the 3/4 oriental. On the plus side you won't have to pay any more for neutering or vacinations and 6 months is still young enough to be a kitten. Just out of interest why is he for sale? Was he left over from a litter, without a buyer?
Good luck in chosing

Personally I would go for the Siamese I love them, he does seem to be the better choice if he has been vaccinated and neutered already. You say you was looking for Siamese or similar and not the other way round. Obviously the choice is yours, which one do feel you want to see in your home everyday.

Re: Cant choose!

Personally it sounds like the Siamese is the better bet. If the Oriental isn't vaccinated then it sounds like a byb and you may find other problems arising.

Re: Cant choose!

I feel bad for the other kitty but I too would gof or the Siamese. They are one of my 'dream cats' and they are absolutely gorgeous and very affectionate (or so I have heard I have never had one before).

Good luck making your choice

Re: Cant choose!

Thanks everyone for your help.
I keep thinking I have decided but then I think of the other one and feel bad and go back to the begining!!!
The siamese is just for sale as he didnt quite make show standards.
The other thing I dont understand about the oriental is that the breeder said they would give me a pedigree but how if he is only 3/4??? They do say they have been breeding for 30+ years and just bred this litter to introduce a new colour to their program...
