Naomi would have a laugh at Gemma's blue eyes I am sure! I never did bother to show Gemma (she is the one on the left), there was no point with eyes that colour, they are supposed to be green or yellow. Hannah, the one on the right, was the best one. I think I just might have a better one now (Tiffanie though) - if only I could somehow double her size in the next couple of months

This is what the first generation cross looked like - Burmese x Chinchilla. We can't do that mating now. But you can see why it took off, can't you?

Re: Advice on purchasing a Burmilla please.

Vivi,

great decision on the Burmilla breed - they are wonderful and our house wouldn't be the same without one jumping around it.

Our Lilac shaded silver Burmilla boy (Nanook) unfortunately died on March, though within a few days I had spoken to Naomi (at vervain cats) and we have reserved a brown ticked asian boy - like you, we were initially holding out for another lilac, but when we saw these little fellows it was love at first sight and even though 'Nermuls' colour will be different, the personalities shine through!

I have attached a picture of our lilacSS boy Nanook - he was a stunner! Good luck with your search for a lilac/blue/silver - they're all gorgeous!

Vic.

I bet you miss him, Vic. Who was he? What was his pedigree name?

We miss him loads Liz, his pedigree name was Rossicat Little Houdini and he was actually from Naomi's breeding lines; Vervain Tazzetta, Vervain Tarazed and Vervain Ananya - but we didn't know that until I enquired with Vervain about kittens... what a wonderful coincidence!

we had the great pleasure of meeting Nanooks GreatGrannie and Grannie when we went to Naomi's to choose Nermul! It was a very uplifting experience.

He died, we suspect, from leukemia - not from our negligence but because we re-homed him after his original mummy died of cancer. Nanook has spent over 3 months in a cattery, and had missed his vaccinations. He was already poorly when we brought him home. We cared for him for 17 months before it just got too much for him and he died in his sleep on the 17th March.

But believe me, we will never forget that special little man, the pain has eased with the imminent arrival of his distant cousin Nermul - and we can't wait!!

Re: Advice on purchasing a Burmilla please.

Congratulations lizward on your new litter. I saw the pics and they are just the cutest! Despite the colours I was almost tempted

I did as you suggested and looked through the Asian cat association and there are three breeders fairly close. I emailed one who have a current litter and she has one black Silver ticked Asian boy available. I am very very tempted. He will be registered with FB (FIFe) , and the GCCF (???) as well as being vaccinated and insured before he can be picked up at 13 weeks. They don't mention anything about neutering so i imagine that i would need to do that. Meanwhile i have continued to research reminding myself there is no hurry

CATastrophe: loved the pics of Nanook, so sad he passed away but congrats on the new addition to your family Yes its definately a Burmilla for me!
