awful family....

hi everyone, I was hoping for a bit of advice as to what to do about the following situation…..

My mother-in-law’s neighbours are they type of people that would not look out of place on shameless. Their 6 month old kitten recently got pregnant as they have not bothered to get her spayed (or vaccinated) I might add and let her wonder round the streets..when m-i-l commented “I suppose you’ll be getting her spayed as soon as her kitten are old enough” the woman replied “No, why would we do that? We get £50 a kitten so we’ll just hope she gets pregnant again”

At thjis point O was so angry when she relayed this to me I considered kidnapping that cat and getting her spayed and then returning her…however I didn’t do this as I did not think that law would be on my side.

So que this morning when I pop round to m-i-l’s to say hello. The cat had 5 kittens in total, 3 kittens have already been sold and the remaking 2 the neighbours are keeping. One is male and 1 female and they have no intention of getting either neutered or vaccinated but the most shocking things was that both kittens were running round the street!! They are 7 week old and tiny!!!!! Apparently the neighbours have been letting them outside for the past few weeks!! They weren’t even in but had left their side door open so they could come and go as they please.

My sister in law said that she had to rescue them they other day as the neighbour was stood outside her house (imagine waynetta slob) having a conversation with her neighbour and the TINY kittens were running all over the road with cars coming up and down. One nearly was squashed but woman was completely unphased or concerned by this.

What can I do???? I’ve thought about kid-napping the kittens and looking after them properly till they are old enough and then giving them away to people I know would love them and look after them properly or calling in the rspca but as the kittens and mother cat are all fed and watered I would presume that there is nothing they could do and it is the families own ignorance about cat are that is the problem.

Re: awful family....

Call in an authority on it. If you get the cat spayed without their consent not only could all hell break loose, but they will just get another one, and so on.

Call the CPL in to help or the "dare I say it" RSPCA!!!

It is hard to see happening but in all honesty there's not that much you can do, but the charities may speak to them and hold more weight than you do. Trust me though, if you remove that cat they will get more, I have been there and done that, and am now gonna resort to the advice I gave you.

Other than just keep saying "you are being cruel " to them, I dunno what else to suggest, BTW who the F*CK pays 50 quid for a moggy kitten? That's ridiculous! Find out if it is a pet shop and have a go at them, maybe. Unless it's dangerous to.

unfortunately is isn't unusual... moggies are often advertised as 'rare tiger stipe cat' (tabby) 'rare ginger female' (not that rare, 25% of gingers are girls)... even seen an advert for 'extrememly rare pure bred witches familiar' (black moggies)

all going for £40-£130!!! and that's in north east midlands, never mind the South

here is one not even claiming the kitten is rare yet £65!

Re: awful family....

I doubt the RSPCA would do anything They are only usually any good when the TV camera's are following them around Me personally I'd call the CPL to see if there is anything they could do to help with the Queen and her poor kittens Problem is though if their Queen and kittens happen to disapear by some miracle and be placed in good homes, they sound like the type of family to go out and buy another cat to start all this all over again

Re: awful family....

Idiots!!

When I was asked to pay 40 pounds for my last moggy kitten I said you what?? I told them I'd pay 20 on the proviso that it went towards getting the Mother spayed and that was all!!! And I cannot beleive anyone actually pays for moggy kittens at all tbh unless it is to enable the owners to spay the mothers. GRRRR!

Re: awful family....

You could always take the young kittens to the RSPCA as lost.

Re: awful family....

unfortunately there is very little you can do - its one of the problems with rampant breeding. To many owners getting there animals pregnant with litte care or attention...You even see it on threads on this forum.
