Re: awful family....

luckily they're not my neighbours, they're my mother in laws so if the cat was to 'accidently' hop into my car one and I 'did not realise' they would have no idea she was with me and I would presume would assume she was missing (probably off with the local tom)...Sister-in-law saw the mother cat mating with a local tom again the other night so god forbid she is pregnant again so soon!

I have just emailed the daughter on facebook. she's only 16 but seems like a nice kid….just saying "i popped round to xx's on sat and was shocked to see your kittens running around in the street. i assume that they must have escaped as you probably know kittens should not be allowed out of the house until they are at least 6 months old and fully vaccinated and neutered.....etc etc.....I assume your mum and dad will be getting the mum cat neutered now too. My vets are brilliant and I could probably get you a discount if you want their number" (I put it all as nicely as I could to not make it sound too much like a lecture)

I actually didn’t think £50 was too bad for a moggy kitten as most kittens advertised where I am are £80 upwards

Re: awful family....

There is someone i know who does something similar she breeds her moggies for the financial gain and one of her cats almost died. I do not have much to do with the couple any more and since then they have had a few litters of absolutely awful kittens who are so unused to getting handled that i was badly bitten and scratched then the poor little thing was cowering in the corner, now the couple want to sell one of their queens as she wont go outside and mate so she is "no use to them" the reason for this is because the cat has never been shown a lot of love and affection. that kind of thing just makes me very mad so much co that i have taken a few cats off her before and re homed them (all with the owners permission of course) now i cant do that any more as i have 3 cats of my own (one was one of the couple's cats) who do not like outsiders in their house at all since they are not keen on sharing the attention with another animal apart from each other (they dont really like my parter showing me affection lol they jump up on our knees and give us the look at me i am so cute look)

Re: awful family....

just thought I'd give you all a quick update.....I called the RSPCA last week as my local cats protection told me to try them first..however on Saturday my friends went round to the house and persuaded the little boy who lived there to sell the remaining kitten to them for £40....12 year old boys will do anything it seems for some £20 notes...so the kitten is now living very happily with my friends where she will be neutered, vaccinated, flee's etc and fed kitten food and not adult food as she has been fed and definately not let oitside until she is old enough to be!

However, it appears that the mum is pregnant again already

Re: awful family....

At least the current problem of the kittens is sorted but there will be some more on the way shortly by the sounds of things.

People like that make me sick, poor cat...

Re: awful family....

If they're letting them out when they shouldnt be, kidnap them and drop them at a local CP or RSPCA saying you found them abandoned in a box. I honestly would have no shame in doing this - its for the cats benefit, and i wouldnt give two hoots if the people wondered where their cats had gone.

I actually acquired my cat in this way....horrible area, lots of crime and violence, very young unneutered female crying for food so we fed her and she slept outside all night and day for about 3 days. First day we found her we went around to the address on her shabby, too tight collar, and told the (obviously drug addicted, with 2 screaming toddlers) woman we had her if she wanted to come and get her. The houses yards literally back onto each other. Her response was "she'll come when shes hungry." She didnt even bother to come and shout. I even offered advice re: neutering, jabs, etc and told her she could get a free neuter voucher from the CP. No response or care.

3 weeks later (and a carefully planned kidnap operation where millie-cat went to my mums house for a 'holiday' whilst moving plans were finalised), she moved in with us in a much nicer area. Shes a year old now - the most affectionate little thing ever, very demanding and vocal, but still suffers with flea allergy and is a COMPLETE scrounger - she doesnt seem to realise that these regular meals wont just disappear!

Re: awful family....

until the next batch.

I've had this kinda trouble but I got them to neuter in the end, I was so pleased to see their little shaved patches suddenly one day and they couldn't wait to come and tell me they'd been done!!
Although they let them all straight outside upon returning home.
