Just have this 'weird' loyalty to Smudge. Keep thinking of her little face if she comes back and finds another kitty here........I know, I'm crazy!!

I got official confirmation of my going crazy earlier - was listening to my i-pod while doing the housework and listening to a song called 'No air' - actually found myself replacing no air with 'no cat hair' and getting all upset cos all of the cat hair had gone off the bed now

Calling the white coat brigade now
Its amazing how songs can set us off isn't it? There are some songs I can't listen to without blubbing! I think a new arrival would be so good for you you know? I hope you get him and Tabbies are so scrummy. He would be so lucky to have you.

As for the white coat brigade, I called them in for me months ago lol!

Right, I've sent an e-mail to the lady looking after Tigger.

Someone might have adopted him already but can't hurt to ask - will keep you all posted

No, you're not getting caffuffled - I am lol

Smudge is still with her owners, haven't heard anything from them since they collected her last Thursday. Going to take courage in both hands later today and go over and ask them how she is. The OH has warned me off talking to the neighbours again but just have to now. At the end of the day, I did take care of her for 9 mths so think I'm allowed to know if she's alive and well?!

Watch this space......lol

Re. the cat shelter, I let it go because even if Smudge comes back she's never used it and it just sits in the back garden getting rained on. If Lady Smiley's elderly kitty can get some comfort from it then I'll be happy.

Ever wish you hadn't asked ha ha ha ha - thanks for the opportunity to write another novel on my fave subject - Smudge

Re: So tempted......!

Hi, just to add that I have had a neutered male tabby since he was 10 months old and he has never sprayed.
The pic is gorgeous, just like my iccle Manni.

I know you feel you have a strong bond with Smudge but like someone else said maybe it is time to move on and give another cat a loving home...

Difficult though, I dont think you are doing the wrong thing by asking how she is. Unless they are majorly unreasonable I would have thought they would give you an update, like you say, you did help look after her for quite some time!

Good luck!

Re: So tempted......!

Good Luck with Tigger, I'm sure you would make a great furby mum!

Also interested to see what smudges' owners have to say .... hope he got his paw treated!

Yeah, you're right - much as I love Smudge I have no intention of going round in a never ending circle of heartache and filling everyone else's ears with how upset I am but never doing anything constructive.

Haven't heard anything about Tigger yet - made the mistake of mentioning I'm unemployed at the mo in my e-mail so they'll now probably think I can't afford to care for him. Damn and blast my infernal need for honesty.....

Still, I think a major part of being a good pet owner is being able to make the animals interest a priority - so we'll see what happens.
