Hi have you changed their food ? if they are not eating the same food they was brought up on it will cause upset tummy. are you giving cows milk or cat milk, cows milk will upset their tummy too.

Re: hi need help with a question

Is it cows milk? A lot of cats can't tolerate the lactose in cows milk. Just give them water it is all they need.

What food are you feeding them and what food were they on at their last home? Too quick a change in diet can also give them the runs - a changeover of food needs to be slow and gradual.

Stress can cause the runs too. Just moving home can cause this.

How old are they?

I would take them off all cat food and feed them a very bland diet of cooked chicken (no spices, or sauces) - you can grill it or bake it - for a few days until they are a bit better then very slowly (over at least a few days preferrably two weeks) reintroduce the food you are giving them. If they get the runs again they don't like that food. See the 3 or 4 threads on here for kitten food and what to give.

If the runs continue for another day or so you need to take them to the vets as dehydration is a killer in kittens.

Re: hi need help with a question

I agree with Spid's advice - you could also give them cooked white fish (coley etc) with a little boiled rice to help settle their tums. Just the general change in household can trigger upset tums for a couple of days.

Yes, cats are funny with cows milk. I think that water is fine.

they are really young to be away from their mum, especially since you've had them since sunday... it could be why they are having problems with runny bum/upset tum

I'd try switching them to HiLife or similar quality kitten food and maybe a little cats milk if they won't drink water... Tescoes kitten milk is goats milk (no lactose) and added vitamins/nutrients... but the milk isn't necessary

both my cats get upset tums with Whiskas and they are 1year old and 7 months old
