So I bought a Feliway diffuser and let it do its thing for about 3-4 days before bringing Mikah back into my room

(For those who don't know.. Mikah is my personal cat and I'm fostering a nursing cat named Sophie, and her babies.. Sophie attacked Mikah once because Mikah kept hissing)

Well anyways.. Things actually seemed worse. I don't know if it's because since the fight I've kept them separated.. and Mikah just hates Sophie now completely... But before Mikah would go up to the cage cautiously and sniff around and then hiss.. This time when I brought her in I had the cage covered completely with towels and the second I brought Mikah in she was hissing and growling in my arms.

I feel like I'm being a bad mommy to Mikah :/

it is quite likely you will never be able to intergrate them... Sophie is being very protective of her babies, this can last until they are weaned. I am assuming Sophie and kittens will be going back to the shelter once the kittens are weaned?

I'm afraid you will probably just have to keep them separate until Sophie and babies go onto the shelter or their new homes.

Mikah probably is just curious etc but then upset by the angry Sophie.... even if they did get close would it really be fair to Mikah to get used to a friend and then have her friend taken away a few weeks later?

Sophie wasn't the one being mean. She would go up to Mikah and sniff her and Mikah would hiss. And I'd go to Sophie and pet her so Mikah could see that it was okay.. But Mikah continued to hiss.. And I guess one night Mikah just kept hissing and it scared Sophie..

The thing is.. I know that if my parents saw Mikah and Sophie cuddling and playing together they'd have no choice but to let me adopt Sophie... I want Mikah to have a friend so badly.. But I guess it's just not meant to be..

The way things are now.. if my parents came up to me and said I could adopt Sophie I'd have no choice but to say no.. I couldn't do that to my Mikah.. :/

Once the kittens are gone you might manage to introduce them again and find it easier.

I just feel bad that Mikah is so sad right now..

I noticed since Sophie has come that her acne has gotten really bad, she's put on weight, and she has dandruff..

I'm guessing those are all signs of stress...
