Calling cat poos anywhwere

My Honey is pooing once a day anywhere she wants but using her tray to pee.Could this be because she is on call as she is normally a very clean indoor cat.

She has two litter trays and today a clean one was right next to where she had a poo. Little devil. Perhaps she is doing it for attention.

Re: Calling cat poos anywhwere

She may not like the litter s0 perhaps change the type of litter in the second tray to a totally different kind. Also if you have two open trays go for a hooded one.

Re: Calling cat poos anywhwere

Pooing away from the litter tray can also be a sign of a cat under stress or not feeling well, so a vet check up might be best.

Re: Calling cat poos anywhwere

Ella had her first accident yesterday, first ever and she is a year old.

It was diarrhea tho......

methinks it maybe something to do with the fact I came down the stairs and she had her head in my glass of fresh orange juice.

Have you tried solding her and taking her straight to the litter tray or even moving the poo in there and getting her to bury it

Re: Calling cat poos anywhwere

I have tried taking her to the litter tray. Taking the poo too may be a good idea to get her t bury it.
Recently though I have been putting her in the outside run for about 6 hours during the warmer weather. She uses her tray in there ok but since she has been on call it may be upsetting her as she is usually in the house being a house cat and she may be missing the company and getting stressed. Or maybe I am reading too much into this. But today she used her tray Yippee.
