Cattery Help

I am going camping (yes, camping ) in August to the Isle of Wight and sadly I cannot take my beloved Waffles.

My Dad lives five minutes up the road but I have made the decision to find her a cattery. I don't like the idea of her sitting in the house all alone bar a couple of hours/minutes each day without company.

So... I am going to find her a cattery and I am very nervous about the whole situation.

Does anybody know of any good catteries in Kent? South East?

What should I look for?

Price range?

What Qs should I ask???

Thanks

Re: Cattery Help

I would rather leave her at home in her own surroundings and get your Dad to call in and look after her she will be fine. I often looked after my neighbours four cats while they were away sometimes for up to 4 weeks at a time and they said they were happier that they didn't go in a cattery. I used to put the radio on i the house to keep them company when i wasn't there.

Re: Cattery Help

thanks but I really couldn't do that. I would spend my whole holiday panicking about her if I left her at home. I would much rather send her to a cattery.

Re: Cattery Help

I know what your going through Witty, as i did the same with my two & refused to leave them at home due to overnight fears with the cat flap.

I did an internet search, read some reviews and checked out prices. The one that won me over was the one that promised that cuddles were included in the price. Plus on visiting they were very friendly. They were surprised that i had only visited the one though but i'm a bit like that.

Their first stay (just came back today) was very successful & i will certainly use that cattery again.

that is very encouraging I have found some nice looking ones just randomly looking on line but I will have to visit a few of them too

It is an odd feeling knowing that I will be leaving her behind! I just hope that she doesn't think I have abandoned her that thought really upsets me

I got upset last Thursday after taking my two there, so i posted my thoughts on here and everyone's responses really helped me through it. So when its your turn, let us know & we'll hold your hand (virtually of course) to get you through as well.

Re: Cattery Help

Good luck in finding a cattery for Waffles - and give us a wave from the island - have a very good view of the Needles from the village and a little ferry runs from just down the lane from me over to Freshwater

Whereabouts in Kent are you, Timmy would love a friend for a week or two lol Only problem is he'd want a permanent one and would feel lost when she went home lol
