A yes for Ty, he rubs against toy and rolls about the floor

No for Timmy. He has catnip toys and I have a spray too and he's not fussed in the slightest, in fact they're the only toys he won't play with

Re: cat info help! cats reaction?

Hiya

H sneezes, then will scratch the carpet, and rolls around with his forehead on the catnip item (usually a refillable mouse). He will also lick and carry the mouse...

Re: cat info help! cats reaction?

cat nip comes from the plant nepeta cataria or cat mint. yuo can grow it from seed on a window sill or buy it in the form of oil or dried. some cats go absolutly crazy for it, some aggressive, some drowsy and some rub against it. there is a chemical in the plant which makes them do this but some cats seem not bothered and dont react as extreme as others. i did oringinally want to see if there was a genetic link but this is too complicated and i dont have enough related cats to test on. i have done some experients with cats but i will be using the info you give me on your cats to add to this as the more cats the more reliable my work is.
thanks so much your really helping me out

Re: cat info help! cats reaction?

No for Winston & Lola though Lola is 5 months and Winston is 6 months and I've heard that they cannot smell catnip until they are at least 6 months old. Winston too has been neutered so not sure if that might be why. He's not the slightest bit interested in anything that has catnip in it.
Lola will play with the catnip toys but her playing is no differnt to her toys without cat nip in them.
