Re: Any Persian Owners?

ok ladies I have a question for you!

What do i do about eye staining?

My girl gets the most terrible eye staining, which because her fur is white around her eyes it looks even worse. She is such a beautiful cat, but the eyestaining makes it look like i'm not caring for her properly, and certainly detracts from her beauty.

I have been using on advice:

*small amount diluted baby (no tear) shampoo, and warm water to do eye baths with a soft cloth to clear it up. This is done twice a week to help controll the problem.

*eye envy powder, pushed into the dry clean hair with an eyebrow brush (for humans but is a blunter brush so easier to push into the fur)

*three times a day I'm using a soft gauze wet pad to just wipe her eyes.

She has had a check-up at the vets and there is no sign of infection. Her face is very very flat, although her nose is quite low. She doesnt snort etc and her nostrils are nicely sized. She is groomed everyday and has a bath roughly every month.

So ladies, what should i be using and doing to controll it?
