Question Introducing cats that don't live together

I am getting a kitten at the weekend and would eventually (in a few months time) like to introduce her to my mum's cat as I spend a lot of time at my mums and would like to be able to take my cat with me rather than leaving her at home. My mum's cat is about 1 1/2 years old. She is very friendly and loves playing and craves other people's attention so am hoping this would help

Would this work as they would not be living together all the time?

If it would work what would be the best way to do it?

Re: Introducing cats that don't live together

I think you should be able to do this. They are both young.
I would take your kitten in a carrier to your mum's and leave her in it to start with. let your mum's cat come and sniff at the kitten while it is in the carrier and then gradually introduce them by leaving the carrier door open. make sure you keep an eye on them until you know they are happy with each other. Best of luck
