I dont know about the Cpl as where i worked there was a stray she had 2 litters of kittens before they came out and spayed her.It took endless phone calls to different areas but i got there in the end as i didnt want the kittens becoming feral, mum cat was scared but you could stroke her if you moved slow and had food for her.
I would give the rspca a call and keep a log of all the messages you send the owners Ex as this is proof they dont want the kitten.Surely they will take kitty and give it the love and care its in need of. Good luck

I just gave him a bit of food, I think I may just say to the ex partner, if she hasn't took it to hers within the next fortnight I will have to call a cat charity to get it sorted, as it's unfair to leave it like that.

She is a nice lady, just a bit of a bimbo really. You know the kind that needs a kick up the bum now and again to get them to do stuff.

I think you are being totally fair, more than they deserve really! I wouldn't give them too long to be honest,if she says he doesn't want the kitten then I can't see them doing much to help the poor little thing. Its not like the flea stuff is so expensive either, why don't people think through the expenses before they go and get a pet,they just see something they want because its cute but they don't think long term or about the practical matters as affording vet bills and treatments they need just to keep them in general good health

I wouldn't leave it too long. if the man doesn't care and the woman cannot afford the flea treatment then two weeks isn't really going to change much.

What an awful situation to find yourself in and that poor kitty. it is a nice idea to have a ct but when things go wrong it is easy to just 'drop' them! very sad

A little bit of an update.

Today a friend of my next door neighbours (who have feuded with the kitty owners before) knocked on my door to ask if i owned the little white cat outside. Because she was really upset about it. Basically i told her what I've told you and she said she's gonna ask him for the cat as she had a cat with the skin condition before, so I told her to ask him as he didn't want it.

She did, and he said, his ex is taking it, so I am giving him a week to get it sorted. She gave him her phone number and said if his ex wife doesn't collect the cat within a week, to phone her and she'd love him.

So they have a week.

the feud they had before was to do with marriage and affairs etc, not cats, but it makes it slightly awkward to deal with the pair of them.

I hope the girl takes the cat, she is a cat lover as i have spoken to her about cats before and she also lost hers to a dog in this area.

Fingers crossed, I am gonna sneak him out a bit of food between now and then.
