Pedigree certificate but no pink slip

I'm interested in buying a pedigree kitten. The breeder has said that they do not have pink slip but the kitten will have a pedigree certificate.

What exactly does it that mean? I understand about the pink slip being from the GCCF. But how can there be a pedigree certificate without a pink slip?

Thanks

No-one

Should I be worried?

They are asking top dollar for the kitten which I don't mind paying but only if everything is ok

Re: Pedigree certificate but no pink slip

Probably unregistered pedigrees. This could be because one or both parents are unregistered, or because the breeder has fallen foul of some GCCF rule and does not want to be found out, or because one or both parents are on the non-active register.

As for asking top prices for them, that is unrealistic and I certainly wouldn't pay it. An unregistered pedigee ought to sell for substantially less UNLESS they are eligible for registration.

Re: Pedigree certificate but no pink slip

Any one can "knock up" a pedigree paper, depends on what you want,do you want a registered kitten or are you happy with a unregistered one?

Re: Pedigree certificate but no pink slip

if the kitten isnt registred then it sounds dodgy. Where did you find the kittens breeder?

on-line ad.

I only want it for a pet but as it's the same cost as from a reputable breeder, I'm very unsure

Id say if its the same cost then you might aswell go to a rep breeder. Follow what ever your head tells you though as its your choice.
