Can or does anyone know ( don't all shout at me )
The main difference between a Main coon and Norwegian forest .
I think one is much bigger but was thinking about the grooming once a day or once a week does one coat matt more than the other .

Sorry Dominiques, I have only ever had one Maine Coon boy and his coat was silky, he had a bushy plume tail and wonderful long tufts at the tips of his ears. He also had a wonderful maine, similar to a lion but to scale for a cat of his size - talking of which, my boy weighed about 19lb in his prime.

Perhaps others will come on and tell you about their Norwegian Forest cats and I know there are some wonderful breeders of Maine Coons who visit here too.

the Wegie is smaller, more delicate in the features with a equilateral triangle shaped face (the MC is more boxy/trapezoid face shape) Wegies also have slightly longer in relation legs

as far as coat care goes I believe they are the same, basic groom every other day, daily for show prep or if they get muddy
