Re: Feeding other cats

I know. I know.
A friend of mine had a boy cat and didn't get him done, he ran away, we see him around from time to time, being a boy cat.
I say to her, You shoulda got him done!! I'm always telling people to get their cats done.
We could really do with a mobile neutering service where I live, just to get them under control a bit.

A mobile neutering service sounds brilliant lol. I have heard of people taking other peoples cats to the vets to get them done and then getting a load of grief for it Why?? neutering outdoor cats solves so many issues fighting, which causes abcesses etc, hundreds of unwanted kittens that overfill the rescues, diseases like fiv and felv. The list goes on and on. i commend breeders who neuter kittens before they leave their homes! I just wish neutering for cats not on the active register could be enforced but unfortunately it can't!

Re: Feeding other cats

I would never ever feed anyone elses cat

My cat has allergies and cannot eat biscuits and certain food.

He was getting very ill and we didnt know why, he gets constipated, we were doing everything right he needed a emerge op.........a lady down the road walked past and said she had been feeding him cos he came in her garden!

HOW dare she! sorry but you do not know the cats history and my cat needed a emerge operation due to this.
We told her NOT to feed him...and she kept doing it! She was literally killing me cat!

Luckily we moved away!

So please dont feed other unknown cats you dont know there health

Re: Feeding other cats

Sometimes when I had some fresh chicken or fresh fish that I wanted to give to my neighbours cat, I took it round to them to give to the cat, as she was pregnant and I thought it would be nice for her. they gave it to the other cats, not the pregnant one, lolol. Anyway, another time they did ask me not to feed the nursing queen as she had the runs that day, so I didn't even though she begged all day at my door.
One time just after the kittens were born they went on holiday for a week and left a friend to feed the cats who didn't turn up, I was worried and then I got a text asking me to go and do the cats and check on the kittens, which of course I loved, and did so.
I think in my case it's ok to feed these cats.
But i do totally see things in a different light now too, and would never tempt another cat into my home.
Although in the back of my mind I do worry that they think I am stealing their cats!!

that is an awful situation! Poor you! I would have gone APE!!!

I discussed this with OH last night and I said that I would be really mad if somebody fed my cat. After all you don't go up to somebodies push chair and give the baby inside God-knows-what!
