New Kitten

Hi All I posted on here last week as I had to have my old cat PTS. Well I missed having a cat around so went out and got myself a lovely little 6week old Moggie.
Now the questions as its 23 years since I had a young kitty.
Do I have to wait till she is older before I can flea treat her?
How many feeds a day should she be getting?
She was not eating when I got her so I remembered when I got my old one at 2weeks I eventually had to give her meat and cat milk mixed, so done that and hey presto BUT is this okay?
I have wormed her with Panacur paste so will I give her it every 2 weeks until she is 12 weeks old?
Okay sorry for all the questions, and no doubt I will have more so will apologise in advance LOL
Here is pic of little Spirit

Ok firstly you could find out what she has been eating with her breeder and get that. She should be on three small meals a day, she has a tiny tummy but needs regular nutrition.

I think you can get frontline for kittens but I think its safe to use from two weeks old anyway. If you have just wormed her I would wait or ask your vet for advice.

She is gorgeous btw. Keep the questions coming, loads of people on here want to help newbies out!

Izzie

Re: New Kitten

Ah bless her! She's very tiny to have left her mum at 6 weeks. She should be having around four small meals a day - you can get special kitten food these days which is supposed to be nutritionaly better and is more finely chopped so easier to eat. My gizmo was only 6 weeks when we got him as he had been abandoned (we think mum was dead) and he was covered in fleas. The vet gave us Frontline for him so I guess your little one is old enough to be treated.
Panacur paste fortnightly is ok and then she should have something once a month until 6 months - I think you can still use the panacur up till that age.
She's a very sweet kitty and I hope she makes you very happy

Re: New Kitten

Thanks Izzie. Its been so long since I looked after a baby kitten. I have been giving her what the Breeder fed her which was whiskas and I will be changing that eventually. She is eating though but did not know if it was okay to mix the kitten milk in with it.
I am off to vet on Thursday with her so will see what he can give me re flea treatment. Thanks for your help and nice comments

Thanks for advice. Any suggestions on what better food I should change her onto?
I will ask vet for Frontline when I go. Thanks for comment

Thanks. She is a sweetie. I know I got her young but the breeder was a sandwich short of a picnic so I thought she would be better here.

I agree just offer you kitten as much food as she will eat as each kitten is different.
