agreed! My birman follows me everywhere when I'm in - her favourite place is on or next to me with a paw on me to 'claim' me. I get told off if I go out - lol - but i love it.

Re: Which Breed For Me?

Hey, i have two Ragdolls, one is very into human attention, the other (Tinkerbell) does not want to know and does not like to be picked up or fussed much, so i dont think the breed of can always means you know what you are going to get. It is on the individual cat i think as someone else on here has a Ragdoll from the same breeder as Tinkerbell one and hers is so loving!
They do shed a lot but if you groom them it is not as bad, i have asthma and they do not set it off
how about re homing a pedigree?
Ragdolls are great cats, and although Tink is not always into humans it is nice when she snuggles up she did have a rough start in life (cat flu) so this could have made her the way she is now, she is stil a great cat.

A simple moggy won't cost as much as a pedigree, they won't get the defects and they can be just as pretty and definitely as loving.

Re: Which Breed For Me?

I would recommend SINGAPURA- they are fool of love and Affection. they really like company of a human (even more than of another cat ) . their hair is very sort but silky. and they are just love to do every thing with you. if you need more info- i can give you some links! they are the most loving cats i ever met. they don't know what is a stranger and will welcome every one. they are adorable. and the love you can get from them- is amazing!!!

have to second that, i know someone with a mog that has a whole in its heart, also knew someone who spend £££ on their mog because of tummy problems. not saying that ped cats dont have problems but i have not had any that a normal cat would not have, the only thing i had was one of mine had cat flu, all cats can get that.

Re: Which Breed For Me?

The vast majority of breeders do breed very carefully with the aim of producing healthy cats so there is probably as much chance of getting a moggie with a defect as there is of getting a pedigree with one.

Re: Which Breed For Me?

Interesting that this site here which databases pedigrees for a number of ped cat breeds has a page devoted to Maine Coons that live beyond 15.
