Re: Which Breed For Me?

Ive just looked up on the shedding of Ragdolls it says they are low shedders. It can be kept down to a minimum with regular grooming.

Heres the site

Thanks for the link
I google a few things and it seems that the original site I checked seemed to have the wrong info.

Re: Which Breed For Me?

Does it have to be a pedigree breed?

Our little moggie is very affectionate and loves snuggling up to me on the sofa or at the end of our bed. He really likes human company and gets all excited when we get home!

No it does not have to be, but sometimes you take the gamble on personality of unknown cats. If that makes sense.
I can just see me getting a cat that loved me at the home and becomes aloof when it settles in with me hehe

Re: Which Breed For Me?

I agree with you as some moggies can be very aloof it depends on there personality and instincts. where i think pedigree cats have been domesticated more and they tend to be more socible if they have been brought up right.

Re: Which Breed For Me?

I'm no expert, but surely it really depends on the individual cat and to some extent the way they've been reared rather than the breed? (I stand to be corrected as I am a complete cat novice!)

Some breeds, like dogs, are bred for human companionship. There are the odd ones out but with some breeds you know more of what you are going to get.

id say your right yeah but I think genetic makeup has a big part to play too. Say the mother was nervous (pedigree) this could rub off on her kittens maybe? I think most breeder breed from only well adjusted cats that are confident and healthy in the hope the kittens will be the same.

Re: Which Breed For Me?

perhaps you could visit your nearest rescue centre a few times and see which cats you take to, and which take to you?
