My horrible cats!

I haven't been using my back door, due to it being too wet and muddy out there for the dogs, there isn't a door to the back porch, just a curtain.

Anyway, I went in there to get something out of the cupboard and discovered my terrible two have been using it as a giant litter box!!

I don't understand this as their litter box in th bathroom is always kept clean, and the door is never left shut so they have access to it at all times.

I had a box of bits and bobs, and a couple fo bags of washing out by the back door so now I've just had to go through everything and clean it!

What's the best thing I can use to get rid of the smell, and how can I make sure they don't do it again? We are moving soon so there is no point getting a door to replace the curtain.

bological washing powder and water will help remove the smell. it can be hard to stop habits once they start someone else might be able to help.

Re: My horrible cats!

To remove the smell, you use the pure white vinegar, it works like a charm! also they well not return for it removes what we can't smell that they can.

Re: My horrible cats!

Could you put the cat litter tray in there? Maybe they'd use it then?

Re: My horrible cats!

as it's right by the back door, you might find it easier to use a soil box instead of cat litter, which you can just swap for fresh in the garden

my cats have two holes out in the enclosed patio, and even in really wet weather they prefer to use them rather than the cat litter tray by the door

Has their litter tray got a lid? Maybe they like the privacy?

Re: My horrible cats!

From the sounds of it your cats are stressed out probaly as you are packing things in boxes to move. It might help to get some feilway plug inns and put rescue remedy in there water. Also get a couple more litter trays {golden rule one tray per cat plus one}. Personally I think this is a problem you are going to have until you move and they get settled into there new place.
Remember Cats never ever go to toilet outside the tray to make you cross they do it because something in the world has gone wrong and they are stressed out by it and messing is there way of telling you.
good luck
