Re: My Dilemma

Its a awefully painful situation.

I worked and lived around the world.

The goodbyes I have got to say to the beasties have all been painful even knowing that they were going to the 2nd best of hands. They have been documented in detail in my webpages and livejournals.

But I prepared for their departures well in advance. In the case of Tinkerbell my CAG, I spend a year training and educating that family how to look after her.

Like the goodbyes I eventually have to say to my current beasties.

But should I , in fear of the tomorrow, deprived myself from them? And if I did not have them, would their live be that much better?

Or we enjoy the today, and hold in abeyance the fears of the tomorrow.

Closing your heart will seal that off from the pain. But the magic of their companionship will not be there either.

I say take them with you, and deal with situations as best as you can.

We are living all on borrowed time as it is and future is more uncertain now then it ever was.

Re: My Dilemma

It sounds like you have an awful lot to deal with right now and that your life is feeling pretty unsettled.

The fact that one of your new flatmates has agreed you can bring your fur family with you would suggest to me that she isn't averse to cats. Lots of people love them and the two you are sharing with may well get attached to your furballs and be happy to look after them if you were to go away.

I know it's a different situation but I've had a succession of lodgers sharing my home for 18 years. Many of them weren't fussed one way or another over cats but my little snuggle muffins soon won them over and I knew they were well cared for when I did spend the odd night away from home.

Why not take your cats with you? If it really doesn't work out and the cats are unhappy then review the situation again. You could rehome them now and then find out both your new flatmates are cat lovers
