Re: Why do cats spray?
in you're post you havent said if he's been nuetered or not??..usually when they spray its to mark their territory, and once he's started to spray it may be very difficult to stop him im afraid.

Re: Why do cats spray?
He was neutered at about 6 months and he is 7 years old now. He is really dominant though and unfortunately is not the top cat in the house so he is constantly trying to flex his muscles. I've often wondered if he had been castrated properly as he beats up a lot of the local cats and acts very tomish. I can understand him spraying outside to give info to other cats, but why in the house.

Re: Why do cats spray?
I did read once that cats who don't feel they have their own territory due to living with other cats can be prone to spraying, even after netuering. I would ask your vet for advice tho.
