Ian.
I would get really angry and immediately fall in love with the cat through guilt. I think that you have to try and stop yourself and not get toooo envolved - although that is a little inhuman. I do think you would be good though - you have the experience.

Re: Ok. Wish me luck!

I'm just worried that they see my CV and think I'm over qualified for the job! Just a waiting game now. Interviews (if selected) begin on the 19th of Feb.

Angry Re: Ok. Wish me luck!

Update.

Didn't even get called in for an interview Shame, because I'd have loved the opportunity.

that SUCKS! It is so hard at the moment what with so many people going for the same jobs!!! and with all that experience you have! Sometimes I think that they just want somebody that they can mould into shape themselves

Re: Ok. Wish me luck!

Sorry to hear that.

The problem is that, if you do have qualifications which may make you look 'over qualified', employers worry you will get bored and leave. The high costs come at the beginning of a job - advert, interviews, training.

You could try mitigating the qualifications part by contacting the employer before you submit your CV and asking lots of questions and possibly even going to see them.

Unfortunately, with recession, employers are going to have loads of applicants........so you need to stand out.
