Re: Claws!
hehehe good luck
Superpettoysrus.com - I do them when Waffles is scratching just from walking on me. The other day she really scratched my legs just jumping off of my lap Also, she has recently gone mad scratching the living day lights out of a scratching post but has calmed down since they were clipped. Just push the nail out and see what they look like - you won't believe how long they can get it is amazing. |

Re: Claws!
Best of luck with the nail clipping.
Cruel of your doctor to laugh - you should have asked him to clip them for you if he thiinks it's funny ![]()

Re: Claws!
A tip I've read on another group is to use clothes pegs - peg several along the cat's neck going down the back a little way, this more or or less immobilises them therefore making it easier to clip claws, give pills etc. Never tried it as none of mine are that impossible. There was even an article written about it in a veterinary journal.

We don't do Presto's as he goes out, but do Minnii's regularily so she isn't nasty to the stud - but she's really easy to do - if she has kittens i will get them all used to it before they all go to their new homes. We always play with our cats feet and looking their mouths and ears etc when they are kittens to get them used to anything the vets might want to do to them

Re: Claws!
Think I've been very lucky as two of mine have had their claws trimmed since they were moving about so they aren't fussed and will just sit still. Eilinel wriggles a bit but I sit with her on my lap with her back to my chest, legs out in front of her, I hold the paw/foot in one hand and the clippers in the other so she's enclosed in my arms and can't twist round.
The breeder used nail clippers which are easier to use than the proper clippers (sometimes the angles get the better of me) and maybe not so scary to cats?
