Re: Knots in long haired cats

mmm .... I made the mistake of trying to clip out a knot but Henry jumped up and I caught his leg and cut it (and it needed a stitch at the vets)

He gets knots under his 'arms' too but very cutely when grooming will roll over and hold up his arms one at a time so i groom his armpits!!!!!

I also have the mikki matt master which works well if you need to 'thin out' the hair between seasons it seems to take out undercoat well, and is easy to use - no knife-like edges either

Aud loves her brushing, but she squeals like a baby when i try and get a knot out! honestly, anyone think i was trying to kill her the way she cries! Then she potters off into a corner and scowls at me for about 10 secs then comes back waving her bottom in my face!

I have accidently cut her once with the scissors which scared the crap out of me so i darent do it again!

I caught one of mine once when snipping a knot, it was awful, it was the tiniest of nicks but I felt terrible for ages. Luckily it didn't need stitches and he still sits patiently for me to groom him. I won't use scissors though now, too scary!
