Boris coughing again

Boris had a coughing fit on sunday, i thought maybe he had some food stuck as he had just eaten, however he as just had another one, do you think it could be a furball maybe as he seems to be malting a bit? He is ok again now it just last a few minutes but it just worries me alot.
Any ideas what it could be? xxx

Re: Boris coughing again

No will have a look at the pet shop in morning, do you put it in their food or just give it to them. Tootsie as had a few furballs in the past but Boris never really as, i dont brush him as much as i do Tootsie, i brush him every couple of days and have noticed he has been losing quite a bit of furr, and he is always washing so maybe thats what it is, makes me worry loads though when he does it. xx

Re: Boris coughing again

Is that Boris in your sig? If so I would say deffo furballs mine get them quite often but usually manage to cough them up, usually where I step in them in the dark of the morning in bare feet! So long as it is not prolonged it is quite natural for the longhairs. You could try something oily in the food for a change like mackeral or kippers or sardines, to grease the insides but if it persists you may need a special diet. It doesnt normally persist with mine, they get one up and that's it for another 3-4 weeks or so. C.x. Get used to furry slugs around the house in other words, pmsl

Re: Boris coughing again

It could be lass, cos I have a big black moggie as well and he must catch all sort of hair that floats around off the Persians. I find it everywhere, on my towels, on my clothes, in my car etc. so it must get in the moggies' throats as well, bless. Get a bit a bit of oil down him, maybe tuna in oil one night as a treat? C.x.
