I would say a comb rather than a brush. Get a varied length prong comb and a very fine toothed comb for afterwards. If you havent already got one, a slikka brush for a quick going over

Re: best brush for a long haired selkirk??

I got a matt master earlier this year as my cats were unusually knotting up and I found this great but I am not sure if it would work equally as well as on a Selkirk

MIKKI MATT MASTER FOR CATS & PUPS - FINE- MEDIUM COATS on eBay, also Grooming Health Care, Cats, Pet Supplies, Home Garden (end time 21-Dec-08 23:13:00 GMT)

I do love the Selkirks but I would be fighting the urge to get the hair straighteners out when I came to groom one!!
