Indoor Cats ?????

Hi Everyone !!
was just wondering if you could help me with a problem...
I have two beautiful little boys Leo - 1 year old black dont know what breeds?? & Shoey 6 months a siberian x snowshoe... there perfect both of them, they get along , eat well , always friendly , well behaved (except for when shoey decides he wants to go on one of his missions to climb to the top of the christmas tree)....
The problem is when i first got leo me and my boyfriend lived in a 1 bedroomed flat by a main road so we decided to keep him inside.... when he was around 6 months we decided we wanted another cat to keep leo company when we were at work.. so along came shoey...at that point we decided to move as keeping two cats in a tiny flat is clearly not fair at all... we moved to a two bedroomed house and its huge... they both love it... they run around all day chasing eachother !! its soo cute..
The thing is i still feel quite mean for not letting them outside.. were not near the main road anymore so it would be safe.. but id be worried about them all the time (i know that sounds silly but i would) and my boyfriend thinks if we let shoey out (the snowshoe x) someone will take him !!!! Do you really think someone would do that ??????????????
Should i let them both out ?? or just leo ?? i dont know !!
Help Please

Re: Indoor Cats ?????

In my personal opinion, if they are happy indoors then there is no need at all to let them out. The fact that you are concerned already shows me that you wouldn't really be happy about it anyway

As long as they have each other and plenty of toys and attention, they will not miss out at all. If you start letting them out and then something happens or you decide you want to keep them back indoors, it will be much harder for them xx

Hope this helps

Lou
xx

Re: Indoor Cats ?????

As someone who lost their cat just a few months ago (got knocked down) - I feel that if they were happy indoors I would be inclined to keep them indoors!

Re: Indoor Cats ?????

I suppose it depends on the cats. I have a couple that dont seem too bothered about the outdoors, but a couple that absolutely love it!

Brilliant Pet Website for Cat Lovers!

Re: Indoor Cats ?????

I'm really pro indoor!
Its not just roads that are the problems these days, you have bored kids, drunks, cat haters, dogs and any of those can spook a cat so much they could end up anywhere.
I think it is nice to let them out in the summer under supervision
ours go out on thier leads so they dont miss out too much
