Re: just joined
Cats can manage very well on 3 legs, so she will probably cope very well. I have no first-hand experience with 3-legged cats, but I am sure there will be people here who can tell you more from their own experience.

Re: just joined
Hi Nicky,
Welcome to PF. I am sorry to hear about Elsa and am sue it must be very worrying for you and your children to think about such a huge operation and all the aftermath. Cats are incredible creatures though and I am sure she will cope just fine without the missing limb. Try to think how lucky she ( and you ) are that the cancer is contained in a limb which can be easily removed to solve the problem. I hope you stay on board and let us all support you over the next few difficult weeks. |

Re: just joined
Hello and welcome! I do not have a 3-legged cat but i have a friend who does and says he copes just fine! She does keep him in, however, and has built an outside run for her (2) cats to ensure that he comes to no grief - he might be at a disadvantage in a cat fight. Otherwise, he is lively and healthy

Hello and welcome
![]() How sad for you and what a worry for you all. As Paddypaws has said cats are incredible creatures, I am sure Elsa will learn to cope with your help. Not quite the same but my guniea pig Dylan went blind at 2yrs old and do you know he copes so well and is still the boss over his brother Boris. Nature can be amazin. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and Elsa on the 10th.. we will all be here to support you if you need us ![]() |

Re: just joined
Welcome to the forum
At my partners Mums home we often see a three legged cat outside. It is remarkable how agile this cat is on his/her feet. At the end of the garden there is a 12 ft wall and I often seen that cat walking along it, so it must be able to climb to get up that high. I dont see why Elsa shouldn`t be able to cope once she has learnt to walk again. I do hope all goes well with the op. Shadow and Puss Puss give their good wishes. We are like neighbours with you living in Sanderstead lol
