Arggghhh.....

This morning, after getting up to feed the boys, I decided to go back to bed for a lie in. A while later hubby came in and woke me, and decided to let the boys in to the bedroom.

Odin jumped on the bed while Oslo went for a wander around the room in his usual fashion.

I made some comment about Oslo, and hubby jokingly said, he's looking for somewhere to pee (we've had a few issues with him lately). Next thing I hear some scratching going on, and tell hubby to grab him before he pees on the floor - hubby just stood there watching him, and by the time I was vertical and close enough (bare in mind 5 minutes earlier I had been fast asleep), it was too late....and ofc, it was then up to me to clean up. (note I was more mad at hubby than Oslo).

I've put the issue of Oslo occassionally peeing on the floor down to the litter tray not being clean enough for his liking, although unlike today he normally gives me fair warning before doing so (he meows like crazy for 5-10 minutes) which normally gives me enough time to do a full litter change. If he had his way, I'd be doing a full change every day - instead of the 36-48 hours it currently is this is on top of the regular scooping mind you.

As soon as my latest order arrives at the petshop we'll be switching to Oko Plus (they were able to get it for me at a not so unreasonable price), which based on the experiences we had with the clay based clumping litter, should make him a lot happier. Now I just need to buy a blacklight to ensure I've not missed any spots in my cleanup and we should be back to a happy household...well at least until next week when the boys *finally* go in to be snipped & chipped but that's another story.

Re: Arggghhh.....

Not really the same but we havent had a toaster in the house since we had tractor tom as he likes peeing in it for some reason anyway i went to asda and thought i would buy one and put tin foil over the top of it. Next day im at work and OH ring me to say that the toaster smells really bad and i knew he had peed in it again (tom, not OH) so i asked did you put the tinfoil on top of it when you last used it, answer was no i thought you only had to leave it on for a bit so he thinks its their all the time, decided not to have toaster in the house untill he is trained better (OH not tom) but yes men are dismally stupid when it comes to some things

The times my DH just stands there either looking at me or at Simba as he (Simba) commits some misdemeanor... I've lost count Men don't seem to be able to second guess in the way we can.

Re: Arggghhh.....

I have to admit more than once when Oslo has peed on something hubby left on the floor my response has been - well you know that he sometimes pees outside the box so its your own damn fault for leaving it there after I warned you not to do so...

I have no sympathy for stupidity.

Re: Arggghhh.....

Cat pee can be so frustrating to clean so I can understand why you are so mad at your OH.

One of my boys, Bloo, taught my OH a good lesson We were toilet training them and OH randomly decided not to give the boys treats after going (I had previously explained the importance of positive reinforcement and that it needed to keep going for minimum 6 months). Bloo would run to me and get his treat regardless but he started watching for opportunities to pee and get 'revenge' on my OH.

Bloo would wait until my OH left the bathmat down and then pee on it. I could leave it down all day and nothing, but if my OH turned his back for even a minute Bloo would race in, pee and leave. I didn't really like having to clean up but it was sure funny to watch
Bloo still scratches on the mat if my OH leaves it down
