Re: Your breeds and their characteristics!

My ocicats have a few quirks but on the whole they match the breed profile. Bloo is a bit sooky and loves being a lap cat but he is also very playful and inquisitive. Freckle is more reserved but very intelligent. Neither are overtly keen to meet strangers but that is probably more to do with lack of people socialization. Both are very toy driven and certainly show off their Siamese voices at any opportunity!!!

My little selkirk rex girl I am still getting to know. She does love a cuddle and adores everyone, including the vet. She certainly knows how to play and has no qualms about putting herself first at dinner time, play time, mummy time, bed time... Her meow is quiet and small which is a nice change from the boys.

Re: Your breeds and their characteristics!

my three BSH variants are pretty quiet and layed back, they only meow when im doing their food. Coco is abit naughty and into everything, but he is still young, I am alittle worried about what my maine coon will be like when he arrives, as i have heard alot of stories about red maine coon kitties !!!!,,

Re: Your breeds and their characteristics!

My norwegians are all fairly typical, laid back (most of the time apart from the odd made half hour), adapt to new things easily, love their humans & their dogs, like to say hello to visitors (sniff first then Amba has to wash your hair) etc.
BB does like to have conversations (they are said not to be at all vocal), but he has a right chunter some days.

Re: Your breeds and their characteristics!

My Norwegians are very laid back and quiet [apart from chatterbox Kyrre]. Kyrre and his brother Kalle are great climbers but the other two aren't. Kyrre is also into everything and has the nickname of 'chief nose'. There are lots of mad half hours with the four in full pelt that make the cat trees shake. Karlo thinks he herds me on a morning [nipping ankles to make me get his breakfast faster ]. Convinced he was a corgi in a previous life. Karlo particularly also needs no demands a lot of a love and attention.

Re: Your breeds and their characteristics!

We got out BSH kittens for their quiet and laid back nature!
But we never bargained on how smart they were going to turn out!
Izzy has now figured out how to open all the cupboard doors in the kitchen and there was me blaming the OH.
Blanket loves water so taps are her fave thing!

Re: Your breeds and their characteristics!

My two exotic shorthairs seem quite typical of their breed - both very calm, laid back and quiet boys. Very affectionate and follow us from room to room - always involved in whatever we are doing. For instance I had a telekit at home the other day and within minutes Gus was asleep on my paperwork and albert busy chewing my pen

Re: Your breeds and their characteristics!

Mine are both fairly typical of the Persian breed bearing in mind that they're colourpoints and had a bit of siamese in there a long, long while ago. Or should I say, they both have a lot of characteristics, but not them all. Tia is the typical couch potato, hardly stirs her bones unless it's to go for food, a cuddle, or a rather gentile play. She loves people she knows, but really isn't keen on strangers (she wasn't well socialised when I rehomed her).

Millie, on the other hand, sleeps hard, but also plays hard. She cuddles hard, in fact, she does everything to extremes. Untypically, she likes to ride around on peoples' shoulders. She talks a lot, but then, so does Tia. The meow is pretty quiet and sweet though, not like a moozer at all.

Both girls follow me from room to room. millie has to be involved in everything, but Tia will sit back and watch. Both sleep in the bed with me, Tia at the bottom and Millie usually digs her way under the covers with me.

So as you can see, even when they're typical of the breed, there's room for personality differences.
