We don't usually get very cold winters, but when we do, they are disrupting the entire nation.

I remember when my mother died in February 2005, there was so much snow that friends from Friesland needed the help of all their neighbours to get their car dug out in order to come to the funeral. All in all, we've had quite a lot of snow over the past 7 or 8 winters. Global warming, they call it, well, we haven't had so many harsh winters in a row for ages.....

Re: Catweazle's adventure

He is not a slender cat, I must admit, and his winter fur makes him look even bigger. He is outdoors quite a lot, so he grows a real winter coat, though not as much as Tosca, who is a totally outdoor cat. She will come in for a few hours in this weather to have a warm, cosy nap, but that's all.

Re: Catweazle's adventure

You should see us go for walkies when it is not so cold. Josje, Xena and Ricky aren't overly keen in this weather, but sometimes we have a whole bunch of cats taking us for a walk.

Re: Catweazle's adventure

I will tell him.

He has his own column in the community paper. They are all in Dutch, though.....
The name of the column is Kattenstaart, which translates as Cat's Tail. Our neighbourhood is a very elongated peninsula called De Staart (the Tail) .
Waterlily and SnazzyJazzy like this.
