Re: I am so sick...

Ugh, so sorry to hear some of you are getting it from the other side too! I never would've thought anyone would have anything against cats going outside. I mean I personally wouldn't want mine to go out but it's generally the "norm" - I don't know anyone personally who DOESN'T let their cats roam free. Even my friend who lives in London lets her cat out. I'm really surprised about the abuse some of you have had about it!

People need to learn to mind their own business and let it be the decision of the individual cat owners. I know my cats are totally happy being indoor-only at the moment: they are placid, well-behaved, like their cuddles, prefer snuggly warm places, are not particularly interested in the outdoors other than maybe glancing out of the window once in a while (though they prefer the radiator or under the table!) and are not bored in any way, shape or form! But if their behaviour changed of course my attitude might change and I'd start to look for creative solutions.

I guess it's similar to when you become a parent and someone tries to tell you how to raise your own child! That must be infuriating too - it's actually quite offensive I think!

Re: I am so sick...

well i have always had cats, and they have always been outdoor cats. i like seeing them play about in the garden, waiting for me at the gate when i get home etc

but if i had a cat that wasn't a fan of going out, i wouldn't force it. i don't judge other people for keeping their cats indoors at all. each to their own

as Freddy and Tilly haven't been spayed/neutered yet, they're being kept indoors. but when they're all set, i'll leave the door open and see what they think - no pressure

Re: I am so sick...

Hi I'm new on here
I have 2 adult cats and a 6mth kitten who are out door cats ( kitten was but not at the moment as I found him in the garden 2 wks ago with a broken leg ) have no idea how this happened I have alot of trees and vet thinks he may have fallen somehow I live in the middle of a park so not near any roads ... So it's a big mystery as to how this happened thankfully he's on the mend now , I've had alot of cats over the yrs and I had 3 cats 2o yrs ago who were indoor cats they were very happy and safe , my sister has a cat who is an indoor cat too he is 20 yrs old now and also very happy she buys him a piece of turf which he loves ( he must be happy as she has had him from a kitten til the age 20 )
Also the litter tray thing of smelling I don't get as I have two on the go at the moment one for kitten and one for my femail cat elsa as she is due for an opp tomorrow , as soon as they do a poo I clean up straight away air fresher and it's sorted ! Cleaned out reg there's no smell x
Sorry it's long winded but at the end of the it's down to you as the owner how you choose to keep and care for your babies
Kind regards
Nicky x
