Anyone tried this litter box?

Next attempt at solving the wee problem in my house - trying a hooded box.

Does anyone use this one? Catit Jumbo Litter Box: Free P&P on orders of £19 or more at zooplus!

Re: Anyone tried this litter box?

I have that one and Amber is fine with it

The only thing I did was leave the flap open as she was young, not for long.

Just ordered it - fingers crossed they use it and stop going where they shouldn't!

Re: Anyone tried this litter box?

Wow!!! THAT is one big kitty litty box!!!!

I have 2 of the smaller version - and that is a pretty decent size - for my four cats and we all like them just fine.

Great deals on cat litter trays and accessories at zooplus: CatIt Cat Litter Tray

I am particularly fond of the opening lid on the top that makes scooping out so much easier. I don't have the 'door' on them though because the OAP's don't get on with them.

Yes, it is quite large! Decided to just go for the big one as I don't want to then have the problem of them not using it because it's too small! It's about the same size as the open trays we have.

Really hope we sort it soon - then we can all be happy!

Hmmmm, when I got a hooded tray for my lot they refused to use it.....they felt trapped inside it, like as if they were going into the carrier for the vets! lol

You might find the this one quite good to get them used to a hooded tray if you would prefer the cats to use one.

The top of the box has a hinged lid which can be opened right back which would make it feel less enclosed by allowing in lots of light and air. After the cats had gotten used to it, you could then try lifting the lid over but propped open a bit, making the box more enclosed but not fully and then once they have gotten used to that, then close it fully.

As I already said, I don't have the cat flap doors on either of mine as they don't like them.

Re: Anyone tried this litter box?

Knowing my two, they'll probably try and sleep in it like they do with their carriers!

Re: Anyone tried this litter box?

I use hooded trays - but without the doors on - they don't seem to like them. I also keep my pet carriers out and about in the house, they are warm all the time and smell of the house not the garage - that way they are very used to them when it comes to vets time. Mine are the Cabriolets so the door comes off and I store that separately, I pop some vet bed or a cushion in; I often find them asleep in the carriers.
